I know it's been a while. I'm sorry. I've been more active over here.
Anyway, this is the old Bald Knob Hotel. It's located near the railroad in what was once Bald Knob's "Skid Row," a strip of bars, brothels, and boarding houses. This one was probably all three at one point. The real business was upstairs, if you get me. As the current owner says, it really put the "Ho" in "Hotel."
The current owners are working on renovating it and turning it into an extension of the railroad museum in the old depot across the street. People will be able to stay in the rooms upstairs and watch the trains go by across the street. Needless to say, I will be doing this, provided I'm still in Arkansas in a couple years.
Here are a few pics of the building's interior. It's been abandoned for years, with the last use being an extremely low-rent apartment complex for people with just above zero means.

Welcome back. Loved seeing that old hotel on the inside.
It needs a lot of work, but it will be great when it's finished!
I have an aunt that used to live there YEARS ago. Her kids would walk down to my grandma's house on Hickory. We lived it the huge house next to Jiffy Jerrys. My mom owned it and turned it into a Beauty Shop and rented parts of it. I actually found your blog when I was searching for pictures of that house!
Neat! I've always been fascinated by the old place. If you ever make it back to Bald Knob, the guy who's restoring it - the owner of the train station across the street - would probably love to hear your stories.
